Join Pittsburgh First Catch staff every Wednesday in summer from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. for downtown Pittsburgh fishing. We provide the rods, bait, and instruction on this relaxed lunch time fishing trip. Bring your own gear or use ours. Catch fish in the Allegheny River like bass, carp, catfish, and more! All ages and skill levels welcome. Our staff will teach the basics of fishing from casting, baiting your hook, and hopefully reeling in your first catch! No fishing license required. We have adaptive fishing gear upon request, including rod holders for chairs/wheelchairs and wrist supports. Please e-mail Amanda at AWesterlund@ventureoutdoors.org to reserve adaptive gear. This project is supported by the R3 Education Grant Program, administered by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, through a grant awarded by the R.K. Mellon Foundation. This open to all, lunch time fishing program also known as Tri-Anglers, has been part of the Pittsburgh summer scene for over 20 years.
