| Experience the annual Open House "A Day at the Hatchery" at the Linesville State Fish Hatchery. On April 9, 2022 from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. join the thousands of people that shake off the winter blues and get excited about the upcoming fishing and boating season. Although the Linesville hatchery and their walleye spawning process are the focal points of this event, you will also be able to browse through numerous exhibits and displays to learn more about the Fish and Boat Commission and other partner agencies. Be one of the 3,000 to 4,000 people to pack the buildings and grounds to see demonstrations on filleting, preparing and cooking fish. Listen to biologists discuss electrofishing. Bring the kids to learn casting and angling techniques at the kids casting area. See your favorite fish species in the hatchery's 10,000-gallon viewing tank. Make your own fish prints on paper or t-shirt. Learn about fly tying. As you can tell, there has been a lot added to this event since it first started in 1965. Come and enjoy the fun. While you're there, get out and enjoy the endless opportunities Pennsylvania offers to anglers and boaters. |
